This paper is for a mass communication research methods’ class. I haven’t specified a topic as I think the writer can decide a topic that heshe thinks is good. I will be collecting data myself so that shouldn’t be the concern of the writer, the writer will analyze the data according the the criteria set by my professor. The writer and I will work on the paper together so I need cooperation and patience. I will need the writer to send me any part heshe finishes to deeply look into it. I need to get an A!
Final research paper guidelines
The Format of Research Prospectus
I. Introduction – This is the background to the problem: (7%)
1. A brief history of interest in the area.
2. Specify unresolved issues, theoretical questions, and/or social concerns.
3. Discuss the purpose and rationale for the study (e.g. gap in literature).
II. Review of the Literature — This is a survey of the theory and research related to the problem. It should: (40%)
1. Conceptual definition of the variables.
2. Critique and summarize prior research. This is a review of how the variables have been studied and includes results,
conclusions, strength and weakness.
3. Establish the basis for your study. That is, it should isolate issues which merit further research.
III. Hypotheses or Research questions — Drawing from the literature review, explain the issues you plan to investigate.
It should: (5%)
1. Identify variables (dependent and independent variables).
2. Delineate the research problem to explain the relationships expected among variables (research questions or
hypotheses).
IV. Method (total 25%)
a. Describe why the research method (e.g., survey research) is used.
b. Operational definitions of dependent and independent variables
1. Participants (5%)
a. Selection of subjects (i.e., who and how to get them – sampling procedure). If there are no participants, describe
how the material being studied is selected.
2. Procedures (10%)
a. Describe how data will be collected.
b. Describe how data will be analyzed.
3. Measure (10%)
a. Instrument – explain the measures (e.g., questionnaire) you will use in the study. Clarify how variations in
variables are measured (e.g. Likert-scale).
V. Results (5%)
a. State the results or findings and relate them to your hypotheses or research questions. There is no discussion or
personal opinion in this section.
VI. Discussion (10%)
a. Briefly restate the findings.
b. Compare and contrast the findings with findings of previous research.
VII. Conclusion (3%)
a. State the implication, and
b. List the limitations of the study;
c. Recommend future research.
VIII. References (5%)
No less than 12 references.
Needless to say, the paper has to be plagiarism-free and will organizedwritten.
